What is a current terminal
Current terminal usually refers to the terminal connecting CT (current transformer) to the meter in the power system.
Features: It is convenient to test and can be disconnected or connected without disconnecting the wires on the terminals.
What is a voltage terminal
Voltage terminal, usually refers to the terminal connecting PT (voltage transformer) to meter in power system.
Features: Generally, there is a fuse return device inside.
The difference between current terminal and voltage terminal
1. Different usage scenarios
The current terminal is used to measure the current of the ammeter, and the voltage terminal is used to measure the voltage of the ammeter.
2.The wiring method is different
When using the current terminal to measure current, it should be connected in series with the circuit under test; when using the voltage terminal to measure voltage, it should be connected in parallel with the circuit under test.
Why can't the voltage terminal replace the current terminal?
The voltage terminal cannot be used to replace the current terminal. This is because when the voltage terminal fuse is blown, the CT will open, which will cause the voltage to increase, which poses a big safety hazard. In the same way, if the current terminal replaces the voltage terminal, a fuse is also required, so few people will use the current terminal instead of the voltage terminal.
